Challenge for this week…

Juggle from the end line to midfield allowing only 5 drops or resets. This can be done walking or on the jog. But the goal is to juggle as long as they can with as few resets as possible.

Many were close to completing last week’s challenge and hope they will continue to work on that challenge as well.

Good luck and if you have any questions, please comment on this post.

Thanks!

Rob

The girls have basically done this before as a warmup, so I feel pretty confident they will do well with this challenge. 😁

Hey everyone,

Hope you all enjoyed the past weekend and Easter!

The girls rocked the juggling on the move challenge and will focus on finesse passing and shooting this week.

For the challenge, we will place targets in the corner of the goal that they will need to hit. Power is great, but if we can place our shots, it can be deadly to the opposing keeper.

One thing I did growing up to work on passing/shooting accuracy song with distance control was to try and hit my trampoline from different parts of the yard. We had a little circle in the middle of the mat and that was my target to hit.

As a team exercise, we will play soccer golf at practice to learn the chip ball and how to get the “feel” of distance control. For this, we will make different size boxes staggered…

Excellent work from the girls yesterday with their ring of fire! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 There were some quality shots while doing the challenge!

Here we go for this week’s challenge…

The theme is settling and first touch, both stationary and on the move, while receiving a high ball. Set up is simple. Layout a square about 5 X 5 yds and start in the middle of the box. Toss the ball in the air and settle it without the ball leaving the box. Pretty simple, right? Now the progression… Use the same box, but have someone toss a high ball to you as you run into the box to settle it. For both the stationary and moving settles, you can use any part of your body. BUT, I would encourage you to become comfortable using your chest, thighs, feet, and maybe your shoulders.

Good luck and get those reps not only…
